• The "Mountain Post,'' is located just south of Colorado Springs. Established 1942.
• Fort Carson was the home for the 4th Infantry Division. Currently it is the home of the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, 3rd Armored Calvary Regiment, and the 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne).

• NORAD is run by the combined efforts of the United States and Canada. It is charged with the missions of aerospace warning and aerospace control for North America. Aerospace control includes providing surveillance and control of Canadian and United States airspace.
• This organization is located inside the Cheyenne Mountain Air Station.

• Home of the 21st Space Wing, the Air Force's only organization responsible for worldwide missile warning and space control.
• The men and women of the 21st Space Wing, Team 21, work throughout the Colorado Springs area in what is known as the Peterson Complex-Peterson Air Force Base, Schriever Air Force Base and Cheyenne Mountain Air Station-as well as other locations around the globe.
• Team 21 serves as host unit of the Peterson Complex for four major military headquarters-North American Aerospace Defense Command, U.S. Space Command, Air Force Space Command and Army Space Command-as well as the 302nd Airlift Wing (Reserve) and many tenant units from other major commands.

• Serves as an operation site for various satellite operations.
• Originally named the Falcon Air Force Station, it was renamed Schriever Air Force Base on June 5, 1998, in honor of retired General Bernard A. Schriever.
• General Schriever pioneered the development of the nation's ballistic missile programs.
• The base covers 3,840 acres and its population is approximately 3,800 military, DoD civilians, and contractors. Schriever AFB is part of the "Peterson Complex". This consists of Schriever Air Force Base, Peterson Air Force Base and Cheyanne Mountain Air Station.

• Home to state-of-the-art facilities, 30 different academic majors and is known for its high academic standards.
• Athletics are a requirement. Every cadet takes two physical education courses each semester and is required to participate in either intercollegiate or intramural sports and has 40 different athletic teams available.
